Recently, I have been investigating some of these online baby product suppliers (diapers.com, etc) looking for the best deals on formula and diapers. Eli is now on Enfamil Gentlease (yes, he is a gassy baby) and we LOVE Pampers Swaddlers. I thought that if I could purchase these online in bulk they would be cheaper. So far... NOT! I guess you pay for the convenience of shipping directly to your door. Which is nice, but not necessary since I'm at Kroger or Walmart at least twice a week. Here are the best bargains that I've found so far. Please comment on your favorite bargains and share your experiences with us new moms!
So far the awards are:
Formula - Kroger!
Diapers - Walmart
Baby food - BeechNut at Kroger seems to be the best deal
Of course all formula moms must sign up for rewards programs! I bet I've received at least $100 in coupons from Similac and Enfamil! Nikki and I are trading coupons since Sailor is a Similac girl. :) I don't think Nestle GoodStart does any rewards.

Ella was a Enfamil Prosobee baby and with Jude his best bet was the Goodstart which I think you are right - no coupons there. I mostly buy diapers at Sam's though. Pampers are my favorite too.
I nursed little man so I can't speak from the formula aisle but I really like the Beech Nut flavors better than the Gerber brand and we use nothing but Pampers Cruisers...never ever Huggies! They leak. And we all know a leaky baby does not have a happy mommy.
We did Similac and could find the big jars usually on the clearance sale at Target and then a coupon of course. Baby food was whatever was on sale. Kroger had a better selection but PUblix would have a great sale sometimes(don't think you all have Publix). I was a Pampers fan until stage 3 and then I switched to Huggies and haven't gone back. They work for the loads we have these days, but LOVE pampers sensitive wipes. I use a coupon and get them at Target.
With my 1st child, I was a Pampers mom all the way - first Swaddlers, then Crusiers all the way up until big boy underwear (except at night - read on). This time, I have discovered Target's private label diapers, thanks to my sis-in-law, Barsha - I love them - only $14 for 92 size 4's!!! Their wipes are awesome, too. Different things work for different babes - Andrew was more "shapely" than Braden (meaning, he was chunkier - ha!) and Huggies were great for him until I discovered Target's diapers. I hated regular Huggies with Braden - they seemed to leak, but they didn't with Andrew - go figure! I did discover Huggies Overnites (size 4's can be found anywhere but we could only find size 3's at Babies R Us) with Braden and loved them (they didn't leak I guess because he only wore them when he slept - not much movement)- I use them on Andrew still.
I was a Gerber mom and you can by them in bulk at Sam's. Braden was a Enfamil Lipil Regular baby and we bought all of his formula at Sam's - not Andrew, he was an Enfamil Prosobee kid. We bought his by the case at Babies R Us - it started out cheap at first but they dramatically increased the price and eventually buying it by the can was no different than the case and we had to check each time to see which was the better deal. I was in the rewards program with Braden and signed up multiple times with Andrew but never got anything from Enfamil in my mailbox! Luckily, my co-worker is a Similac mom who also signed up for Enfamil rewards and brought me her coupons!
sorry for the long comment - experienced mom of two had to put in her two cents :)
Now, did Target really have the best prices? Or did Jessica Horne need an excuse to go to Target? :)
Thanks for bringing this up. I don't have much time to shop around for diapers so the input from you and the other comments has been helpful. I love Pampers, however I am thinking about trying the Target brand as Allison had mentioned. I heard recently from another friend they liked the Target brand and it was less expensive. I have been breastfeeding however I am getting ready to start Matthew on formula, but not sure which kind is best for him since Similac and Enfamil both have different types.
Tracy, I breastfed until 4 months and then found it too hard to find time at work to pump. With skipped pumping sessions and the added stress of the job, my milk supply started dwindling and suddenly I had a fussy baby on my hands (he was starved!). So, I started Eli on whatever I had samples of! First Similac Advance, then Enfamil Lipil. I like the Enfamil better because it is a finer grain and seems to mix easier. Eli did okay with both, but mom and I both noticed a significant increase in his gassiness. So we tried the Enfamil Gentlease and it actually worked. Unfortunantly finding the right formula is a trial and error process! Just keep an eye on his BM's and gassiness and choose the one that is best for Matthew. From what I hear the soy formula's smell extra terrible so I never tried any with Eli. (FYI... all formula smells worse than breastmilk and you will notice a change in the smells and consistency of BM's. UGH!) Sounds like several moms liked the Enfamil Prosobee. Worth a try if you have a sensitive baby? Good luck!
Hey Amanda! It is Shelley (Reeves) Castle. I just started my blog and wanted to say hi! Hopefully I will get the hang of all this soon. Check out our site and let your mom know I have finally made one.

Amanda,
I have used Pampers, Huggies and Publix brand all on Trence trying to find the real diaper that would not leak at night! Trence sleeps so long at night and every morning when he wakes up, he is soaked! I love the Pampers brand during the day because they are easier to put on, but I like the Publix brand at night because they don't leak as bad. Like others have said though, every child is different so who knows. :) If you have a Publix you can sign up for the baby club program (online)they have and get tons of coupons! The only thing is that you can only use them at their stores. Even if you don't have a Publix sign up for it anyway because they send you a book for free that gives all kinds of advice from ages 0-5. Great book!
Happy good deal hunting,
Tanya
