Christmas Day with the Owings
Owings Family Women
Owings Family Men
Cole LOVES his rainforest jumper NeNe (Nancy) and Big Daddy Sam got him for Christmas!
Christmas day is busy for the Owings family! We start the day by opening presents and eating breakfast at NeNe and Big Daddy's. This year was especially fun with the new addition of Cole! He absolutely loves his rainforest jumper and entertained us all! Next, we rest up for our big dinner at Aunt Judy's with the ENTIRE Owings family! The top of this family tree are the 7 brothers/sisters: Sammie, Tom, Ed, Betty, Jack, Judy, and Lynn and the branches are seemingly endless!!! This family is also growing by leaps and bounds with the addition of Cole and Jackson this year. Can't wait until they're all mobile next year! Watch out!
Redneck Christmas!
The Wagner Clan
My brother is going to be such a great dad!!Jay and I spend each Christmas Eve in Whitwell, TN with the Davis and Wagner families. We have many traditions with each family and add new ones all the time! One of these traditions is the annual mistletoe shoot. The Wagners convene to hunt mistletoe (it grows in the tops of trees) and then compete to see who can shoot down the most. This year we didn't even leave my Nana's front yard before we found some mistletoe! Although Jay put forth a valiant effort, Michael won the trophy with a family record of mistletoe! The Wagner family might be a little red :) but the Christian foundation, love, and joy of this family is such a blessing! I cannot wait to introduce baby Eli to our family!

Shopping Day with Cole and Kellye

Today I spent the afternoon in Crossville shopping with Kellye and Cole! It's so fun to see Kellye as a mom and how natural it is for her. We went to the meca of Crossville shopping: Vanity Fair! Needless to say we did more visiting and walking than actual buying, but we had a great time and Cole was a trooper. We ate a late lunch at the Genesis Italian Grille and it was fabulous! Who knew! Cole slept while Kel and I had a 90 minute lunch/gossip session. I guess we wore him out. These pics were actually taken about 5 weeks ago, but they're the most current I have. At his last doctors appointment Cole weighed 16 pounds! He is growing like a weed and is such an active baby! I'll definitely post some Christmas pics so check back later. I might even get one with my ever growing belly! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! Just think the difference 1 year can make!

Lots of green, blue, and heartburn too!
I love the 2nd trimester! The blah's, nausea, fatigue, and even vomiting seem like such a distant memory. I have hit my SUPER energy phase during the perfect season: Christmas! I had the tree and house decorated, shopping done, gifts wrapped, and candy made by December 1oth! Can you believe it?
The baby bump is definitely showing... I got my first cautiously asked "are you pregnant?" last week. It's good to know that I look pregnant and not just a little bit fat! Luckily, the baby bump is isolated to my belly right now. No water retention or swelling (yet). :) I do have lots of heartburn! I've never had heartburn and at first I thought I was getting strep throat! I love TUMS! Any suggestions on how to handle heartburn are very, very welcome!
Last weekend Jay finished painting the nursery and he did such a good job. I decided that I wanted to have horizontal stripes and it was a beast! It took us about 6 hours to tape the room off, but it was well worth it. I'll post pics later!

Our First Blog!

Okay... so here goes the first blog for the Owings family! I figured that if I'm not going to be a scrapbooking mommy, then I'll have to be a blogging mommy! Jay and I found out last week that we are having a baby BOY!! The ultrasound was incredible and it was absolutely amazing how much detail you could see. Jay is ecstatic about his little "golf and tennis star"!! Now we are trying to decide on a name and I never imagined it would be so stressful. :) Thank you all for your continued support and prayers! God is so good!
