More from Memorial Day Weekend!

This Memorial Day we attended TWO wonderful, fun cookouts! Saturday we all gathered at Donnie and Kelli Lawson's to watch the UFC fight and cookout. We had a great time and Eli actually went to sleep in Maddox's room at his bedtime and slept till we left. Then Sunday it was to Johnson City we went! Finally, Monday evening we attended a cookout at Chat and Tiffany Websters. I had laid Eli in the floor while I fixed my plate and look at what I returned to! I don't guess I need to worry about babysitters while the boys are around, although they did think it would be funny to prop Eli up on the couch with the remote! Boys are silly! :)

Here's another installment of Eli and Josiah!

Goodbye Johnson City!

Movin on out!! This weekend was the big move for Michael and Katie! Sunday the fam traveled up to Johnson City to help with the final packing and loading of the Penske truck. Eli didn't get to help with the heavy lifting, but he did get some quality time with Cousin Josiah. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to visit Mike, Katie, and Josiah in Birmingham!Josiah and Eli! They look around the same size, but Josiah is so much bigger than Eli! It is amazing to watch Josiah and know that Eli will be at that stage in 3 weeks! Josiah is following Katie and Mike around and just lights up when they are near!
Gram was in grandparent heaven!
Eli wants a rainforest mobile like Josiah's! He watched it for 30 minutes solid!

Gram, Granddaddy, and the BOYZ!
Double Trouble! I forsee some wild days ahead!
He is Michael made over!
Eli and Granddaddy!

Here's one of the 4 videos I took! :) The bird in the background is Musa and belongs to Mike and Katie! They received him as a wedding present! :) Musa has decided to stay in Johnson City with their friend Hannah! Good luck Hannah!

Boat 4 Sale...

Last summer Jay and I bought this cabin cruiser to use on Watts Bar. It is a 2001 Doral 250SE. Our favorite trip was when we drove it to Chattanooga and stayed a few days docked right outside of the aquarium! It has been a fabulous boat that we have thoroughly enjoyed, but alas... then came Eli! It is for sale! Please email all questions or interest to jeowings@comcast.net . Eli needs a new pair of shoes... he's already outgrowing his "shoe socks"!! :) Pass along the word! Thanks!

Here we are at the aquarium! Our boat is the one on the right...

What a cutie captain!!

Gettin ready for the BEACH!!!

We are so excited about going to the beach!! Kelly Thorne gave us the great idea of using a tent at the beach for Eli! I wasn't sure how he was going to like it, so we decided to try it out today on the back porch. Eli chilled in the tent while I tried to get some sun on my pale legs! He did great. I think he's really going to love it when he has the ocean breeze and sounds. He sleeps to a noise machine at night with the ocean noise so I'm sure he's going to snooze the whole time!

Eli got his finger stuck in one of the holes in the blanket and got soooooo mad when he thought it was attacking him! I couldn't help him I was so tickled! :)

Boyz Time!

Each night around 7pm is what I like to call "Boyz Time" at the Owings house! This is the time when Jay gets Eli ready for bed by giving him his bath, changing his diaper, and putting on his PJ's. This is great male bonding time and gives me a much needed break! Here's some pics of the 2 men in my life enjoying boyz time!

Happy Baby, Final Edition!

No one can make Eli smile quite like Daddy! I swear I won't post pics EVERY day of Eli just smiling, but right now it's too new and just too darn cute!

Cole and his Jumparoo!

Here is a video of Cole in his Rainforest Jumparoo! If you remember... I posted a video several months ago of Cole when his feet could barely touch the floor!! Check it out archived under February 2008. I don't know how much more of this the Jumparoo can take! Cole is wearing it out! :) He has grown sooooo much and he is becoming such a ham!

Happy Birthday Keith!

Today we went to Crossville to visit the Hinch family and to celebrate Keith's birthday! We had a great time at "groovy church" and the cookout was awesome! We love getting to spend time with the Hinch's and the Shadden's! Thanks for the great time! Here are some updated pics of Cole and Eli. Cole now has 2 teeth and working on some more! He is now officially crawling too! Watch out world!

Traveling with an Infant! :)

Friday Eli and I drove to Chattanooga for a celebration lunch with the Wagners! My cousin Meg graduated from GPS that morning (Eli and I did not make it... ha). It was quite an interesting trip to Chattanooga since Eli's midmorning meal fell at Soddy Daisy! I will not go into details, but all you mom's out there know how much "fun" it can be to travel with an infant who eats every 3 hours. :) I tried to treat this like a dry run since we will be traveling to Destin in 3 weeks. If anyone has any advice or recommendations for feeding during traveling, please email them to me or post them if your not shy! (rmcpharmd@comcast.net) I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes and what works, or does not work, for us! Thanks!

Such a Happy Baby!

This week Eli has learned how to smile on cue! It's not always a sure thing... but more often than not he will smile and coo when you are "baby talking" to him! It is absolutely adorable and amazing that he is already capable of cognitive thought! It's very basic... and maybe he's just mimicking, but I like to think that he is like "Hey... your funny". Each time he does it I think about that movie "Look who's talking"! I need to rewatch that movie! :)

Mothers Day!

This Mothers Day was of course a very special day for me! This time last year, Jay and I had just begun to see Dr. Doody, the fertility specialist, and Mothers Day was admittedly very hard. So today, as I sit here cuddled up with Eli, I feel so blessed and honored to have the priviledge of being his mom. God's blessings on Jay and I are so abundant, and His plans for us are truely marvelous!
Mothers Day was a very busy day! We started by attending Luminary where I was the "youngest mom". Yea! I'll take that award anyday! Then we headed to Knoxville for lunch with Gram and Granddaddy. We were going to eat Brunch Buffet at Lakeside Tavern, but the wait was 3 HOURS! The buffet is excellent, but not worth waiting 3 hours! So we went to McAllisters. Then Eli headed off with Gram and Granddaddy, while Jay and I went to see "What Happens in Vegas". Hillarious, and well worth the overpriced admission and $4 small coke! It was a great break from parenthood and gave Jay and I the chance to spend some quality time together. Thanks mom and dad! Being the super blogger that I am, Eli went to Best Buy and got me a new camera for Mothers Day! It is sooooooooooooo tiny and takes great pics! I love it!
Yes... we are dressed alike! I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Soon he will be too big and Jay won't allow it!
Isn't he getting big?!

Gram was very glad to spend some time with Eli on Mothers Day!
Eli loves to look for the camera! (or could it be me?!)
Awww!
I think he looks like such a little boy in this outfit!

What a difference a year makes!

OMG! What a difference a year makes! Who would have thought that our first 2008 summer cookout would have 3 new babies and 1 on the way! The Stooksbury's were unable to make it or we would have had 4 new babies! We missed them... but we look forward to the next get together and Baby Drew's debut! Needless to say, the new additions stole the show and provided hours of entertainment. Sailor (Joe and Nikki's 8 month old) is now crawling and has 2 new teeth. Eli and Noah (5 weeks old) were our cuddlers and spent hours being held! The boys did set up a corn hole game in the yard and enjoyed some "male bonding" until the storm came. Mitchell showed off his awesome new grill that he got for his birthday! Food was great, company excellent! Thanks Susan and Mitch for giving us all an excuse to get together! We look forward to many, many more cookouts this summer!
Corn hole competition is on! Scott and Donnie!
Jay and Joe!
Susan and Baby Noah! His belly is full and happy!
Thomas and Eli hangin!
Sailor meet Eli!
Sailor is doing so good in the grass! (See Carrie... she's been practicing)
Sailor loves Thomas! I think she has a little crush!
She's just started crawling, but watch out world!
Fast friends!
