Eli is getting better at holding his head up everyday! Recently we began "tummy time" and Eli can handle about 5 minutes before he's tired and gets cranky! He can move his head from side to side and even lift it to look at me for a few seconds. As you can see below, his look is one that says "What do you expect me to do?"! This is much better than last week when he wouldn't hold his head up at all. Here are some pics of Eli on his Boppy pillow.

Now Introducing Dr. Michael G. Davis!!!
Today was graduation day at ETSU, including Quillen School of Medicine. Among the graduating students... Dr. Michael G. Davis! It has been a hard 4 years, but with the love and support of family and friends (not to mention his wonderful wife Katie), Michael is officially an MD. We are so proud of him! He will be starting a 3 year residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in June and then plans to complete a 2 year fellowship in Infectious Disease. Here are some pics from graduation and from the celebration we had afterward! There are (of course) several pics of the new babies so check out Eli and cousin Josiah too!
The Med Students are the special ones with the green hoods! :)
Josiah was not very interested! He slept in the sling through the whole ceremony!
Here's Eli and Josiah....Eli is 4 weeks old
Josiah is 7 weeks old
The boys were on opposite schedules today! Josiah slept through graduation and Eli was wide awake, then Eli slept through the party and Josiah was awake! I think Josiah got the better end of the deal!
Here's Eli finally awake!Thursday, May 1, 2008
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...
Who's the cutest baby of them all!
Today Eli found himself in the mirror on his activity mat! He had a very deep conversation with himself filled with cooing, and lots of leg and arm motions! It is so fun to watch him actually find stuff on the activity mat and just stare! This week he has also begun to follow me around the room with his eyes. If someone else is holding him, he will hear my voice and look around until he finds me! It makes me feel so special! I'm sure that all you moms out there can remember how it feels! Also... today we weighed Eli at Granddady's office... he is now a whopping 9 lbs. 5 oz.! Whew!

We're 1 month old tomorrow!!!
Today Eli and I went to Knoxville to visit our friends Susan and Noah! Susan and her husband Mitchell have been good friends of ours for several years... their son, Noah was born about 1 hour before Eli right down the hall at Parkwest! Today was the first time we got the boys together since the hospital and it was so much fun to see how they each had grown and changed in just 1 month! We met at the Mellow Mushroom for lunch, then spent the afternoon at Susan's just hanging out and of course had a photo session! Here are some pics from the hospital and some from today! Haven't they grown?!
Here we are at Parkwest... it was a rocky beginning! :)
