Why I LOVE Being a Mom Today!

Here are some reasons I loved being a mom today:
1. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
2. Sunny day spent doing bible study on back porch while watching Eli in the walker chase the dogs around (also on the back porch).
3. Naptime was easy today!
4. The JOY found in even the simplest or messiest of situations. Example: Eli carting a toothbrush around all day chewing on the wrong end (dentist's kid) and having to give a mid-day bath due to teething biscuit mess!

Son, we're going to have to work on your technique!
The "crab crawl" makes carting this toothbrush around tricky.
If you look closely, you can see Eli's two lower teeth. He's also got one on top, and one about to break through.

THE CULPRIT! Who thought these were a good idea? Had to be a man!
Doesn't he look so proud of himself? And that is the biscuit he's sticking out of his mouth, not his tongue!
YUM!
Again.... too cute to be upset at all!
The hands... ugh... the hands!

Zoo Trip!

So when the weatherman said "60 degree weather", guess where we went? The ZOO! Saturday we had a fabulous outing with me, Eli, Jay, Kellye, Keith, and Cole! Eli watched the animals and would crane his neck around to see what they were doing. Definitely different from our last trip! We had a great time and cannot wait for next zoo walk!

Cole and Eli in their "rides"!
Watch out! Wild Animal!
The elephant exhibit was a big hit!
Cole loved it too!

Go Bricklayers!

Put me in coach, I'm ready to play!

Precious Reminder

I just wanted to share something with all you moms out there! Just a minute ago, Eli and I were cuddled up in the rocker and he had his head laid on my shoulder. (I really appreciate these moments because they are few and far between!) As I sat there, the verse "Be still and know I am God" came to mind. What an awesome and honest moment to share with my baby boy! It took my breath away!

Facebook

I got on facebook yesterday just to check it out. Our Sunday School teachers have been talking about how cool it is to look up people from the past and I was curious. Somehow, I managed to send email friend requests to EVERYONE in my Comcast address book! OMG! The more time I spend on there, the stranger it seems to me. It's like Big Brother is in my little Dell computer! Anyone have problems on facebook I should know about? Other than the addiction of checking it every 10 minutes?

Nashville Trip!

Recently, the Owings clan loaded up and drove to Nashville to visit with our good friends the Hornes and Griffins. We try to make this trip at least a couple of times a year, but with so many new babies it has been very difficult to coordinate! So when we saw the slim chance, we jumped on it! Jay, Jonathan, and Mark went to Dental school together and have been great friends ever since. We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed getting to see everybody! Megan introduced Eli to "row, row" (Comcast On-Demand nursery rhymes), we got to finally meet baby Gabe, and I had Cheesecake Factory dessert 2 nights in a row! Fantastic times!

Eli, Jay, Gabe, and Jonathan
Megan (16 months) and Eli (9 months).
Can you tell this is a forced pic! :)
Eli also found a new pacifier! That is actually a wooden puzzle piece (you know the kind with a handle).

This is the closest to a group pic of the kids as we could get! Ella and Jude brought a movie to watch and were so patient with the little kids! Jude (3 yrs old) did tell me one time... "remember when we were going to watch a movie and no one was going to come?" LOL!
Baby Gabe all bundled up and ready to head out to White House! Miss yall already!

Countdown to Football Season Begins!

This year I had 3 teams that I was excited about. I thought, "surely one of them will make it to the BIG game". Especially since 2 were #1 seeds! Not to be! The Titans, Giants, and Colts were each defeated during the playoffs. SAD! So when forced to choose between 2 teams I was unfamiliar with, I chose the Cardinals. Again... SAD! Why the Cards? If you've never read Kurt Warners bio and testimony, please google it. I promise you will be inspired! Anyways, here are some pics of my fav Titans fans! I can't wait for the next football season and all the excitement! We're counting on you Lane!
